The Seattle Seahawks’ Friday injury report is akin to a trick-or-treating outing with some candy, some raisins and plenty of scares.
Starting on the unsettling side, the Seahawks are looking at playing the Chicago Bears on Monday night without starting left tackle Charles Cross, who was injured last week, and edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu. Cross and Nwosu both did not participate in practice on Thursday, and the same held true on Friday.

The loss of Cross should equal plenty of time for swing tackle Josh Jones, while Nwosu’s loss could be massive for a pass rush that has gotten inconsistent pressure with four rushers. Nwosu is excellent at slowing quarterbacks who leave the pocket, so look for the Seahawks to blitz on Monday against Caleb Williams.
While Seattle got welcome good news about Leonard Williams, who returned to practice in full after being limited on Thursday with an Achilles injury, all is not well with their defensive tackle room. Fellow star defensive lineman Byron Murphy was added to the injury report with a back injury that kept him limited on Friday. Backup to both of them, Brandon Pili, also missed Friday’s practice with a back injury.
Seattle will more than likely be without wide receiver Rashid Shaheed, who missed his second straight day of practice on Friday. The team will surely lean on Tory Horton to step up to fill the void felt, both on offense and on special teams.
Back on the positive side of things, the Seahawks offense looks to be getting a boost in the running back room ahead of Monday night. Rookie Jadarian Price was a full participant in practice after returning from an IR stint. Price’s return couldn’t come at a better time, as Zach Charbonnet was limited with a knee injury and backup Velus Jones Jr. missed Friday’s practice entirely with a hamstring injury.

Linebacker Drake Thomas’ return to the lineup appears imminent as he was a full go in practice after he missed several games with an ankle injury. The linebacking core continues to be in flux as Tyrice Knight was limited, while Chazz Surratt was a full participant and Patrick O’Connell missed Friday’s practice.
