The Pittsburgh Steelers have a roster filled with impact veterans. One veteran is having a stellar season. Jalen Ramsey earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after a six-tackle, two-sack, two-pressure, and four-stop performance against the Bucs. As a hybrid free safety and slot corner, Ramsey has been excellent. The former fifth overall pick has had a renaissance in Pittsburgh.
Pro Football Focus aligns with the eye test. Ramsey has grades of 78.5 on defense, 75.0 as a run defender, an 80.3 tackling grade, and a 75.6 pass-rushing grade to go with a 75.7 coverage grade. Three years ago with Miami, Ramsey had a 19,4 missed tackle rate, but in back-to-back seasons in Pittsburgh has dropped that number to 5.3%.
