After 12 years, Dwight Powell‘s time in Dallas has come to an end.
The Mavericks waived the veteran Canadian centre, they announced on Monday.
Powell joined the Mavericks in a trade from the Boston Celtics during his rookie season in 2014-15. Since then, he’s appeared in 763 games with Dallas, averaging 6.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and one assist per contest.
The Toronto native, 35, appeared in 63 games with the Mavericks last season, averaging 3.3 points and 4.1 rebounds while playing 14.3 minutes per game.
The move to waive Powell may have been made in order to hold onto coveted sophomore big man Moussa Cisse.
