The running back room has gone through a lot of shake ups recently, including placing practice squad running back Jacardia Wright on practice squad injured reserve. This move has created an opening on the practice squad, but also an additional need for a running back. The Seahawks solved both of those issues today by signing running back Dontae McMillian to their practice squad.
McMillan is a Seattle native who attended Chief Stealth High School. In college, McMillan attended Weber State where he was teammates with Rashid Shaheed. After impressing at Weber State, McMillan transferred to Eastern Michigan prior to the 2023 season. In his senior season (2025), McMillan rushed for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught the ball 33 times for 375 yards and 3 touchdowns.

McMillan signed with the Baltimore Ravens after going undrafted in 2026. The Ravens elected to cut McMillan loose at the end of training camp. McMillan returns to the Pacific Northwest with an opportunity to impress as the Seahawks currently are dealing with a plethora of injuries at the position. Currently the Seahawks have Emanuel Wilson, George Holani, Robert Henry Jr., and Velus Jones Jr. on the 53-man roster, with McMillan as the only practice squad running back. Time will tell when Zach Charbonnet (PUP) and Jadarian Price (IR) will be able to return.
