The Raiders have surprised just about everyone with how they’ve started the season.
Through two games, Kirk Cousins has 413 total yards with six touchdowns and a 67.8 completion percentage.

He is one of three 38-year-old (or older) quarterbacks in NFL history to start a season with three passing touchdowns in each of the team’s first two games. Only Tom Brady and Peyton Manning had done so.

Russell Wilson believes Cousins can win a prestigious award if he continues playing well for the Raiders.
“I think Kirk Cousins has done a great job of managing all the noise around him saying that he’s done and this and that. Listen, the system matters and who you’re with,” Wilson said on CBS.
“To me, Kirk Cousins has responded well. He never gave up on the moment. I think those are the things that go a long way.
“I think Kirk Cousins wins Comeback Player of the Year.”
The Raiders have been adamant that the organization intends to sit No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza as long as possible this season. As long as Cousins continues to perform, the Raiders won’t have to force Mendoza into the starting role.
Based on Wilson’s remarks, Cousins won’t just continue playing at high level but also win Comeback Player of the Year in his inaugural season with Las Vegas.
