The Celtics have signed and waived Hank Morgan, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.

It’s unclear when Morgan first signed his contract with Boston, but he was released on Friday. He almost certainly signed an Exhibit 10 deal to receive a bonus worth up to $91K (on top of his typical salary) to play for Boston’s G League affiliate in Maine.

A 6’5″ wing who went undrafted out of Division III Hamilton College in 2025, Morgan spent his first professional season in the NBAGL with the Salt Lake City Stars and the Maine Celtics.

According to Robby Fletcher of CelticsBlog, Morgan was the only former Div. III player competing in the NBAGL last season. The 24-year-old initially thought he’d be playing professionally in Canada’s Basketball Super League, but the BSL season was delayed and he ended up attending an open tryout with the Stars last fall and earned a roster spot after impressing Utah’s affiliate club.

Salt Lake City waived Morgan in January after he averaged just 1.9 points and 1.3 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game across 15 appearances. However, he told Fletcher that he was determined to be aggressive if he received another opportunity and played better for Maine down the stretch.

In 17 games with Maine, Morgan averaged 8.2 PPG, 2.6 RPG and 1.5 APG in 19.2 MPG, with a shooting line of .472/.424/.750. He was initially signed amid a series of injuries but finished out the season with the NBAGL club and played for Boston’s Summer League team last month.
