Former NBA first-round pick James Bouknight and three-year veteran Lester Quinones are among the notable players who will suit up for the G League United at the end of this month, the NBAGL announced (Twitter link). Bouknight spent parts of three seasons with Charlotte after being selected 11th overall in the 2021 draft. The 25-year-old guard played for the Rip City Remix (Portland’s affiliate team) in 2024/25 and spent the ’25/26 campaign with the Mexico City Capitanes, the G League’s lone unaffiliated club.
In 48 total games (31.0 minutes per contest) with the Capitanes last season, Bouknight averaged 19.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists on .473/.418/.836 shooting splits.
Quinones, who has reportedly drawn interest from Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid, was named to the All-NBAGL First Team in 2025/26 after averaging 22.6 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 2.8 APG and 0.9 SPG on .478/.396/.839 shooting in 50 appearances (31.3 MPG) with the Osceola Magic.
The United will be coached by Mahmoud Abdelfattah, who spent last season as head coach of the Iowa Wolves, per the NBAGL (Twitter link).
