The Heat plan to sign free agent forwards Ezra Ausar and Ian Schieffelin to Exhibit 10 contracts, according to reports from Ira Winderman of The South Florida Sun Sentinel and Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald. Both Ausar and Schieffelin played with the Heat’s Summer League team last month.

Ausar, a 6’9″ power forward, went undrafted in June. He played two years of college basketball for East Carolina and one for Utah before playing for USC as a senior in 2025/26. He averaged 14.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal in 32 games with the Trojans last season (29.8 minutes per game).

Schieffelin played four years of college basketball at Clemson, having averaged 12.4 PPG, 9.4 RPG and 2.7 APG on .495/.341/.741 shooting in 34 games (33.4 MPG) as a senior in 2024/25. He was convinced by Dabo Swinney — a friend of Heat coach Erik Spoelstra — to try football last season and played eight games as a tight end for the Tigers, Winderman wrote last month.

“It’s a huge blessing. I mean, not many people can really say that they’ve done kind of what I’ve done over the past year,” said Schieffelin. “It’s been just a blessing getting back into basketball and just the Heat organization taking a chance on me for Summer League and just giving me an opportunity. It’s just a blessing to be here. This whole journey has been amazing.”

According to Winderman and Chiang, the Heat also remain on track to complete their previously reported Exhibit 10 deals with Tre White and J’Vonne Hadley. The team is interested in adding Keyshawn Hall as well, but he’s considering going back to college for a fifth season.

Miami can’t finalize any of its tentative Exhibit 10 agreements until it signs two more players to standard contracts; the team currently only has 12 players on its standard roster. Each of the Exhibit 10 players is expected to compete for a two-way contract, with Winderman suggesting that White might have a leg up on the competition after a strong Summer League showing.
