While the big story from the Cleveland Browns offseason has been the quarterback battle and the revamped offensive line, the additions to the wide receiver room might have created the most excitement. Tylan Wallace was added in free agency, but the drafting of KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston back-to-back in the NFL draft took things to a new level in the WR room.
As everyone prepares for training camp to open, Steve Smith and James Palmer are walking through different wide receiver depth charts, with the Browns happening this week. You can see the whole podcast, including a discussion about the quarterback battle, below, but first a few notes from the conversation about Cleveland’s receivers:

On Tylan Wallace:
Smith noted that Wallace “speaks Monken.” Palmer noted that he’s heard they are “leaning on him in the room.”
On Jerry Jeudy:
“I don’t think he’s in trouble even next year; he’ll have a job. Overall, I think he’ll be fine.”
Guys “in trouble”:
“(Jamari) Thrash… Malachi Corley – he’s playing for his career right now.”
“Really interested to see”:
“Cedric Tillman, he’s on notice. Isaiah Bond, he’s really shown some things… he can amaze you and do some things (in space).”
KC Concepcion
“(KC Concepcion) He’s the guy going all over the formation. (Drops) Get it out of his mind… you practice for these things. I think it’s going to be all good in the Browns (WR) neighborhood.”

Denzel Boston
“I talked to people there… ‘maybe the MVP of our spring… of our team.’ People are just overlooking him. He “big boys” guys. You are not going to be able to ignore him when he’s on the football field.” Smith compared Boston to Josh Gordon. “More polished, more NFL ready. He’s going to be out there.
