The Trail Blazers have begun the process of filling out the coaching staff around first-time head coach Micah Nori. The first move they are making is to bring in Mike Williams as an assistant coach, Michael Scotto reports for HoopsHype (Twitter link).
Williams started his career as a player development intern for the Blazers in 2018 before moving to the Wizards in a similar role. He was the head coach of the Wizards’ G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, for three years, and most recently has worked as an assistant coach for the Jazz since 2023.
The Blazers are also rumored to be interested in bringing longtime assistant and former head coach Jay Triano onto Nori’s staff.
