Jack Draper’s comeback took a blow today as the former world No.4 announced that he’s still not fit enough to play next week’s HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club.
The Brit injured a tendon in his right knee during a match with Tomas Martin Etcheverry in Barcelona. He has since pulled out of Madrid, Rome, Roland-Garros and now next week’s 500-level grass court event in London.
Draper, who will be coached by Andy Murray this grass-court season, says he hopes to get back in time for Eastbourne, which takes place the following week.
R’ecovery is going in the right direction, but I’m going to give myself one more week and aim to return at Eastbourne,” Draper said in a statement to Sky Sports.
