What’s old is new again for the Chiefs.
L’Jarius Sneed, who spent his first four NFL seasons with the Chiefs after the team drafted him in 2020, will return to Kansas City on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million, according to multiple reports.

The cornerback was traded to the Titans following the 2024 offseason and signed a four-year extension, but he was never able to find the same productivity in the Music City due to injury issues.
The Titans released Sneed in March after he had only appeared in 12 total games over a two-year span in Tennessee.
Sneed won two Super Bowl titles while with the Chiefs and has recorded 10 interceptions, 43 passes defended and 352 tackles while playing six seasons in the NFL.
He’s coming off a 2025 season when he had to start the year on the physically unable to perform list due to his recovery from a quad injury and a knee surgery he had that May.

Sneed, 29, appeared in seven games for the Titans and also sustained another quad injury during a Week 7 game against the Patriots.
He sat out the last 10 games of Tennessee’s season while on the injured reserve and finished the year with 26 tackles and three passes defended.
The Chiefs’ medical team seems comfortable with Sneed’s medical evaluation, which was conducted while he was visiting the team’s facilities last week.
Sneed comes back to a Chiefs secondary that has a few new faces, which include Kaiir Elam and Kader Kohou, as well as rookies Mansoor Delane and Jadon Canady.
Sneed was involved with an off-field issue in 2024 that led to him being charged with aggravated assault, which was later reduced to a misdemeanor failure to report a felony. His attorney later told ESPN that all the criminal charges were dropped.
