The San Antonio Spurs will be without their starting point guard as they go for a 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference Finals.
Fox missed Game 1 with right ankle soreness, an injury that he suffered in Game 4 of the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Fox is averaging 18.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.1 steals across 11 appearances this post-season, not far off his regular-season averages of 18.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.2 steals through 72 games en route to a second career all-star nod.
Timberwolves forward Ayo Dosunmu landed on the Spurs guard’s right ankle while diving for a loose ball midway through the third quarter of that Game 4.
Dylan Harper started in Fox’s place in Game 1 and recorded a double-double. The rookie scored 24 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out six assists and came away with seven steals in San Antonio’s 122-155 double-overtime win.
