Let’s keep firing up these trade rumors. I’m getting greedy. This is exactly what I wanted to see before the season: Brock Purdy and the offense showing so much juice that it pretty much forces John Lynch’s hand, in the most positive way possible. You GOTTA give these guys a legit pass rush that can make game-changing plays and give the offense short fields.
Which is actually a credit to the defense! They’re hanging tight, showing that they’re worth the investment. Today, there’s enough talent for me to consider the 49ers defense as “competent”. Another dose of talent and they’re good enough to be opportunistic. Add a heaping scoop of pass-rush-juice and they’ll turn those pressures into sacks.

49ers overreactions: Is Brock Purdy hands-down the NFL’s best quarterback?
“The Indianapolis Colts are 2-2 and believe they are in strong contention for a spot in the playoffs. So there is no reason at this point for Indianapolis to consider trading him.
Buckner (or any player the 49ers could acquire) would be a half-season rental. That would have to be taken into account when that time comes for teams that have fallen out of contention to dangle players as trade bait.”
Could 49ers get anything for WR Brandon Aiyuk in a trade before the deadline? (Paywall)
“If Aiyuk has been hoping to hurt the 49ers by cratering his trade value, he’s succeeded. But if the 49ers were to release Aiyuk, assuming he’s reinstated, it’s fair to question whether there would be any takers among the league’s 31 other teams.”
