Ryan Fox’s Open Championship win came with a couple of clubs at the top of his bag that Srixon hasn’t even released yet.

But now they already have major championship validation.

The most crucial to his win was undoubtedly his ZXi RKT (pronounced “Rocket”) LS+ driver. Needing a par to tie and birdie to win the championship on Royal Birkdale’s second-most-difficult hole on Sunday, Fox stepped up and delivered a 330-yard missile down the right side of the fairway, setting up his decisive walk-off birdie.

The ZXi RKT family of drivers launched on the PGA Tour at the Travelers Championship last month and Fox added the LS+ model that week.

Srixon has yet to comment on the technical details of the new woods line, and we don’t expect them to until the line’s official retail launch. But from the images of the club we have seen, GOLF’s Jake Morrow made a few observations.

The drivers appear to utilize much more carbon fiber than the previous generations and Srixon seems to be focusing on the sound of the driver with an “Acousticore” badging on the sole of the clubs.

We should also note that the LS+ model Fox played this week was part of the previous ZXi line but never made it to retail. Fox also played the previous LS+ model.

Fox made a move to the new Fujikura Ventus TR Black 6-X driver shaft with VeloCore+ at the Scottish Open. The shaft first debuted in March and now has two PGA Tour wins after Viktor Hovland also played the profile in his Travelers Championship win.

Just this week, Fox also added the ZXi RKT 3-wood, which launched at the Scottish Open.

For the week at Royal Birkdale, Fox was 10th in SG: Off the Tee, gaining more than three shots over the four rounds.
