The odds to win 2026 SEC Championship and where the Kentucky Wildcats stand

Big Blue Nation and many others are anticipating the start of the Will Stein era, as we are just days away from the kickoff of the 2026 season for Kentucky Football.

FanDuel has released the preseason odds for every SEC team to make or win the championship, and Kentucky slots in third-to-last. The only two teams with longer odds are the Mississippi State Bulldogs, in year three under Jeff Lebby, and the Arkansas Razorbacks, in year one under Ryan Silverfield.

The odds for Kentucky are +12500 to win the championship and +6000 to make the championship game at FanDuel.

The chances of Kentucky being the “Next Indiana” aren’t very high right away, but not impossible. When Curt Cignetti was headed into his first year in Bloomington, the Hoosiers were +30,000 to win the Big Ten, so it’s certainly not impossible for the Wildcats to do something similar.

Now, the Hoosiers didn’t win the league that year, but they went 11-1 in the regular season and made the College Football Playoff in 2024.

Although Kentucky doesn’t play the two teams with the highest odds to win the SEC this year, the Wildcats will end up playing the teams with the third-, fourth-, fifth-, seventh-, eighth-, and ninth-highest odds. So the odds are stacked against the newly renovated Wildcats.

As for the favorites, Georgia leads the way at +290, though it’s just barely ahead of Texas at +310. The Dawgs have one of the more favorable league schedules, hosting games vs. Oklahoma and Missouri while playing at Alabama and Ole Miss.

If you’re looking for a sleeper pick to make the SEC Championship, Tennessee (+700) has one of the more favorable schedules in the league this year. The Vols have most of their hard games at home, including Texas, LSU, and Alabama, with a road game at Texas A&M. True freshman Faizon Brandon was a top-five recruit in this year’s class and could be the best quarterback Josh Heupel has ever had, so the Vols could be a sneaky team to watch this season.
