The Sixers have agreed to trade forward Johni Broome and a second-round pick to the Clippers, reports Shams Charania of ESPN (Twitter link). According to Charania, Philadelphia will receive cash considerations in the deal.

After waiving Dalen Terry and his non-guaranteed contract in order to sign LeBron James, the 76ers needed to trade or release one more player in order to add Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on a minimum-salary contract while remaining below their first-apron hard cap. Forward Jabari Walker was the only player on the roster without a fully guaranteed contract (he’s owed a $250K partial guarantee), but Philadelphia preferred to hang onto him and move Broome instead and will give up a second-round pick to do so.

According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line and Bleacher Report (Twitter link), the Clippers will receive the second-most favorable of three 2027 second-rounders controlled by the Sixers. Those picks are as follows:

• The Sixers’ own 2027 second-round pick.
• Either the Warriors’ or Suns’ 2027 second-round pick (whichever is most favorable).
• Either the Thunder’s, Rockets’, Pacers’, or Heat’s 2027 second-round pick (whichever is most favorable).

The Clippers will send $1MM to Philadelphia to complete the trade, tweets Law Murray of The Athletic.
