After marauding through their schedule, the 2025 Seattle Seahawks beat the divisional rival San Francisco 49ers (handily) and the divisional rival Los Angeles Rams to earn a spot in the Super Bowl this past February. Once there, the Hawks put on a show, shutting down and shutting out the New England Patriots until into the 4th quarter of a 29-13 beatdown.

That recent performance, along with the fact that Seattle retained a staggering 20 of 22 starters from last year’s campaign, perhaps color the fan poll results for the Seahawks’ first game on Wednesday, September 9th.
Of Seahawks fans polled, 94% think that Seattle will win by some amount. The prediction that got the highest percentage of votes (48%) was the Hawks winning by 9+ points to kick off the NFL season. Following closely behind, the scenario involving the Seahawks overcoming the Pats by a more competitive range of 1-8 points came in at 46% of fan vote.
The 6% of voters who think the Patriots will win by a margin of 1-8 points might be keeping in mind that New England did make an effort to get tougher in the offseason. The team had a very public pursuit of A.J. Brown at wide receiver and signed Alijah Vera-Tucker to shore up an offensive line that was manhandled by the “Dark Side” defensive line.

Interesting, as Seattle opened Super Bowl LX as -4.5-point favorites. As of today, FanDuel Sportsbook lists Seattle as being favored in the Week 1 Wednesday rematch, but this time by only -3.5.
Are the Seattle Seahawks still not getting their just dues? They set a franchise record, earning a +191 scoring differential in 2025, and look to be building something for the long term.
Each season starts the team-building process anew. The Seahawks do have a unique situation; in immediately squaring off against an opponent they demoralized on the biggest stage. And they’ll raise a banner over their heads before the game is even played.
Looking forward to seeing if the Seattle Seahawks can continue to demand respect.
