LAKE COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — There was an alleged illegal gambling enterprise that ran out of northwest Indiana.
The FBI and IRS were spotted raiding two restaurants and a home in Lake County on Wednesday.
According to a newly unsealed indictment, more than 20 people have been identified as part of this group serving as leaders, bookies, collectors and enforcers.
Two restaurants, Gino’s Steakhouse in Merrillville and Paragon in Hobart, were raided.
These locations were allegedly used as hubs to collect and distribute gambling proceeds.
