Britain’s Whitbread on Thursday said it will replace its remaining 197 branded restaurants ​with hotel-integrated food and beverage offerings, a move that could ‌cut around 3,800 roles across the UK and Ireland, as it resets its five-year strategy after being hit by UK ​property taxes and criticised by an activist investor.
