The trailer for Veer Pahariya’s upcoming film Prem Keetanu was dropped on Tuesday, September 22. The love triangle is filled with romance, friendship, humour, and chaotic love-bombing.
The trailer introduces Veer Pahariya in the lead, alongside Aafiya Sayed, who is making her Bollywood debut, and Aparshakti Khurana.

The opening shot shows Veer Pahariya as a college student juggling between romance, friendship and a rival who is also trying to win over the same girl.
Aparshakti Khurana plays Ranjeet, who is also trying to win over Suhani and her family. This sets up the film’s central love triangle and creates several comic situations.
Aparshakti Khurana’s character is shown making efforts to impress Suhani’s family, while Veer’s character Vishal struggles to deal with the growing competition.
The rivalry eventually turns physical, as Vishal and Ranjeet get into a fight.
Prem Keetanu a remake of Premalu?
As per reports, Prem Keetanu is an official Hindi remake of the 2024 Malayalam romantic comedy Premalu.
Bollywood Hungama reported in August 2026 that producer Gaurav Verma had acquired the remake rights to Premalu before assembling the Hindi adaptation’s team.
The Malayalam original starred Naslen and Mamitha Baiju and was directed by Girish A.D. Premalu became one of the major Malayalam hits of 2024.
However, Prem Keetanu is not being presented as an exact reproduction of the original story. Reports have noted changes to the setting and character dynamics, with the Hindi film shifting its focus to a college environment.
This connection has also become part of the conversation around the Hindi film, particularly after Premalu was removed from JioHotstar ahead of Prem Keetanu‘s theatrical release. However, the reason for that removal has not been officially explained.
Prem Keetanu to clash with Drishyam
Prem Keetanu is scheduled to release worldwide in theatres on October 2, 2026.
The film is directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and stars Veer Pahariya, Aafiya Sayed and Aparshakti Khurana in prominent roles. The cast also includes Rakesh Bedi and Nikhil Vijay.
The October 2 release places Prem Keetanu among the major theatrical releases arriving at the beginning of the month.
The film will also share its release date with Drishyam: The Conclusion, making October 2 an important date on the Hindi theatrical calendar.
