Former NBA guard Patrick Beverley has signed with Boulazac Basket Dordogne, the French team announced today (via Twitter).
A 12-year NBA veteran, Beverley made 666 regular season appearances from 2012-24 for the Rockets, Clippers, Timberwolves, Lakers, Bulls, Sixers, and Bucks. Known for his defensive tenacity, the 38-year-old posted career averages of 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 26.6 minutes per game, with a shooting line of .413/.371/.760.
Beverley’s NBA career ended on a sour note. During the 2024 playoffs, he repeatedly threw a basketball at Pacers fans in Indiana during the waning moments of the Bucks’ season, at one point hitting an unsuspecting female fan in the side of the head. The incident resulted in a police investigation and a four-game suspension, which he would have had to serve at the start of the 2024/25 season if he had signed another NBA contract.
Instead, Beverley has continued his career overseas, playing for Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel in 2024/25 and PAOK BC in Greece in ’25/26. The veteran guard also suited up in the Ukraine, Greece, and Russia from 2008-12 before making it to the NBA, so he’s no stranger to international basketball.
Beverley’s new team competes in France’s top league, LNB Élite, but isn’t part of the EuroLeague or EuroCup. Boulazac compiled a 12-18 record in domestic play last season, finishing 12th out of 16 teams.
