The King of Clay’s tennis educational empire is expanding.

The Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy continues to broaden its global reach. The Nadal Academy announced today it will soon open a new Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Lombok, Indonesia.

The new Rafa Nadal Tennis Center will be part of the exclusive Samara Lombok complex, a resort located on the southern coast of the island, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028.

The Lombok Nadal facility will feature four tennis courts and four padel courts, offering sports programs “for players of all ages and abilities, following the training methodology developed by Rafa Nadal and his technical team over more than two decades of experience on the professional tour,” the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy said in a statement announcing the planned opening.

Located just 25 minutes from Lombok International Airport, the Samara Lombok project will become the first “Destination by Hyatt” in Southeast Asia. The complex will initially open with three boutique hotels and 150 villas, as part of a project that includes a total of 500 residential villas.

“We’re very excited about the arrival of the first Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Southeast Asia,” Maribel Nadal, deputy general manager of the Rafa Nadal Academy, and Rafa’s younger sister, said in a statement. “Lombok is a destination with enormous international potential and we believe that this project will help bring our methodology and our passion for sport to new generations of players and families from all over the world.”

The Rafa Nadal Tennis Centers are a complementary line to the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca and the one opened in Kuwait. They are tennis complexes located in high-end holiday and residential resorts, combining leisure, tourism, and top-quality sports coaching.

With this new complex, Lombok will join the Rafa Nadal Academy’s international portfolio, which already includes academies in Manacor and Kuwait, as well as Rafa Nadal Tennis Centers in Costa Mujeres (Mexico), Sani (Greece), Hong Kong, Marbella, and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), in addition to the Rafa Nadal Tennis Programme in Egypt. The first Rafa Nadal Tennis in Brazil is also scheduled to open in 2028.
