Point guard Jalen Suggs exited Sunday’s game against the New York Knicks after suffering an apparent injury to his right leg.
The incident occurred late in the fourth quarter as Suggs went for a drive to the basket in transition. As he went up for the layup, he appeared to tweak something in his right leg and stumbled during his jump.
When he landed, he immediately fell to the ground and grabbed at his right knee in pain. Suggs had to be helped back to the locker room by the team’s medical staff and trainers.
Up to that point in the game, he had four points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals in 33 minutes.
Heading into Sunday’s contest, the 25-year-old former fifth-overall pick had averaged 10 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in two games this season.
