The Detroit Lions have declared their inactives ahead of their Week 2 matchup with the Buffalo Bills.
The Lions will need to shuffle their offensive line again this week, as starting right tackle Blake Miller and starting left guard Christian Mahogany were ruled out ahead of the matchup. Already leaning on Juice Scruggs to replace Cade Mays at center, the Lions will likely turn to Larry Borom (at right tackle) and Ben Bartch (left guard) to hold down starting roles.

On a positive note, the Lions declared two defensive backs (Ennis Rakestraw, Keith Abney) inactive, which means starting outside corner D.J. Reed is going to play, despite showing up on the injury report with an unexpected foot injury.

Entering the day with only 52 players on the active roster, the Lions signed Levi Onwuzurike to the active roster and made two player elevations for this game. With these moves, the Lions roster sits at 55 players on the game-day roster, and with 48 eligible to play, Detroit needs to declare seven players inactive for today’s matchup.

Hassanein, Wingo, Rolder, and Rakestraw are inactive for the second week in a row, while Keith Abney won’t play as Christian Izien returns from injury.
The big surprise here is Ed Oliver being inactive. He reportedly suffered a hip injury during warmups and will not play.
