The Lions put one of their starting offensive linemen on the non-football injury list on Tuesday.
Left guard Christian Mahogany has been placed on the list. Mahogany started all 11 games he played last season and there’s been no word from the team about the nature of the issue that landed him on NFI.

The Lions also placed defensive back Christian Izien on the physically unable to perform list. The Lions signed Izien as a free agent after he spent the last three seasons with the Buccaneers.
Both players will be eligible to come off the list.
In addition to the injury list moves, the Lions announced that they have released defensive lineman Jay Tufele. Tufele, who signed with the team in April, has played for the Jets, Bengals, and Jaguars.
