A lead supplier of precision metal stamping and complex welded seating structures broke ground for their major expansion in Oxford. Kobay South will be adding 60 thousand square feet to their manufacturing space, which will also create 50 new jobs for the area.

This expansion will help Kobay South produce more product. After it’s done, they’ll be able to do things like increase their heavy stamping capacity to 2,500 tons and add more support for automotive programs. They’ll also be working with local workforce development programs like the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) and the Consortium of Machining Education and Training (CoMeT) at Gadsden State Community College.

Kobay South has been operating in Oxford for almost ten years. After opening in 2016, the company worked to earn trust as a major vehicle manufacturer in North America.
