Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor is busy promoting her upcoming film Daayra and has been seen in dresses, pantsuits and sexy co-ords. However, recently, the actor opted for a vibrant lehariya-print saree in rainbow hues for the Daayra music launch in Mumbai. She looked stunning as ever in the saree, flaunting her curves.
Kareena accessorised the saree with a delicate double-layered diamond choker necklace and matching stud earrings.
Recently, Kareena turned muse for Ritu Kumar, and it was a full-circle moment for her. For the unversed, when Kareena tied the knot with Saif Ali Khan, it was ace designer Ritu Kumar who had painstakingly restored an heirloom ensemble for her. The beautiful garment, which once belonged to the Begum of Bhopal, was gifted to Kareena’s mother-in-law, who had worn it on her own wedding day.
For the latest showcase, Kareena wore ethnic-to-easily-embroidered couture.
In a post, Kareena wrote, “A beautiful piece that once belonged to the Begum of Bhopal was gifted to my mother-in-law, who wore it on her own wedding day. Years later, it was lovingly restored by Ritu Kumar for me to wear on mine. Knowing the story it carried, and then getting to add my own chapter to it, made my bond with the brand incredibly personal and special. So this was never just a campaign for me. It was about emotion, memories, heritage and a beautiful sense of belonging.”
One of her looks featured the Jaisalmer Jacket and Skirt, inspired by the architectural heritage of Rajasthan. Traditional block prints have been reinterpreted through a modern silhouette, while intricate aari, tikki and zardozi embroidery add layers of texture and detail. According to the house, the ensemble represents more than 600 hours of artisanal craftsmanship.
Kareena Kapoor was last seen on the big screen in Rohit Shetty’s 2024 action drama Singham Again. She is now gearing up for Daayra, an investigative drama directed by Meghna Gulzar. The film, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, is scheduled to hit theatres on September 18, 2026.
