During the broadcast, CBS’ team highlighted that Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was favoring his throwing hand, shaking it out and had it worked on while he was on the sideline. In his post-game press conference, Love stated that the issue actually started with a hit to his elbow.

On one of the Packers’ five (that’s right, five) fumbles of the day, Love took a shot to the elbow, which apparently caused his hand to go numb. After the hit, he got it checked out on the sideline.

Love was able to push through the injury and had a 16-of-29 for 145 yards and two touchdowns performance on the game, good for a passer rating of 91.9. It wasn’t his best game that he’s ever played, but it wasn’t a disaster-class effort, either. Those incompletions also came with several dropped balls, as each side of the game struggled with the wet conditions in MetLife Stadium.

The fact that Love was able to push through the final whistle in overtime probably means that Love will be able to suit up against the Atlanta Falcons, but keep an eye on his progression on the injury report next week. Green Bay will begin releasing injury reports on Monday, as their matchup against Atlanta will be a Thursday Night Football contest.

Love’s backup is Tyrod Taylor, who was signed by the Packers to a one-year deal this offseason. Taylor has a 29-31-1 record as a starter over his career and has played in 100 total games. The third quarterback in Green Bay, who would be the second-string option if Love isn’t ready to go, is Kedon Slovis, a practice squad player who was signed by the team from the Arizona Cardinals after the cutdown deadline.
