The festive fervour of Janmashtami is going on in full swing not just in Vrindavan and Mathura, but also in Mumbai and other parts of India. Many celebrities have worshipped at the ISKCON temple in Juhu, while most of them are celebrating Janmashtami at home.
Taking to Mouni Roy shared photos and videos from her Janmashtami celebrations. In the reel shared by her, she was seen performing Lord Krishna’s abhishek at home. She shared glimpses of the rituals she performed and was also seen performing aarti and offering bhog to Lord Krishna.
Mouni had also shared a glimpse of her Janmashtami celebrations at Mumbai’s ISKCON Temple, extending festive wishes to her followers and describing the day as particularly blissful.
She also shared a special moment with spiritual leader and motivational speaker Gaur Gopal Das.
Mouni Roy looked effortlessly elegant in an ivory silk saree featuring a rich red-and-gold border that added a festive touch to the otherwise understated drape. She paired the saree with a matching strappy blouse with a simple, classic silhouette, allowing the traditional weave and striking border to take centre stage.
Sharing the pictures, Mouni wrote, “Had the great fortune of conversing with Prabhu at length on the auspicious day of Janmashtami. Some conversations just stay with you… this one felt cathartic, deeply poetic in its own way, and left me happier and more fulfilled.“
Mouni Roy’s journey from television to Bollywood
Mouni began her acting career on television with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, where she played Krishna Tulsi. She later appeared in shows including Kasturi, Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev and Naagin.
Her portrayal of Shivanya in Naagin made her one of the most recognisable faces on Indian television, while her role as Goddess Parvati in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev also earned her widespread recognition.
Mouni subsequently transitioned to Bollywood and featured in films including Gold, Romeo Akbar Walter, Made in China, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, Blackout and The Bhootnii. She has also made special appearances in projects including KGF: Chapter 1 and Vedaa.
