One of the most-awaited films, Toxic, starring Yash and Kiara Advani, will finally hit the big screens. Amid the promotions and growing buzz around the film, it is Kiara and Yash’s chemistry that is grabbing headlines.
The duo’s on-screen chemistry has taken a controversial turn on social media, with a large section of viewers expressing sympathy for Siddharth Malhotra rather than appreciating the romance on screen.
Many netizens have flooded the comments section with reactions like, “Justice for Siddharth,” while others wrote, “Divorce loading..?” referring to the real-life couple.
Toxic is touted as Kiara’s boldest film yet. In a recent chat, the actress opened up about why she said yes to being a part of the project.
Kiara Advani told Femina, “When I heard the narration, I was mesmerised by how well fleshed out this character was, all the meat an actor longs for. I felt I had reached a place in my career where I was confident enough to take on such a character.”
While details about her character remain under wraps, her bold scenes as Nadia alongside Yash have caught everyone’s attention.
Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas, has been filmed simultaneously in English and Kannada, with dubbed versions scheduled in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages, highlighting its global ambition.
The film, produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, was initially scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, during the long holiday weekend of Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa. However, the makers later postponed the release, and Toxic will now hit theatres on August 26.
