How past NCAA gambling scandals set a precedent for Brendan Sorsby's punishment

Both Shores B and Hunter Deckers, when they’re placing these bets, they’re also illegally placing these bets.

You’re not allowed to bet until you’re 21, for Shores B in the state of Indiana and for Deckers in Iowa.

So that’s also something that was eventually kind of one of the charges that Deckers pled guilty to was underage gambling.

Part of the Deckers was that he had used, I believe, a parent or somebody else to essentially create an account.

I don’t think we know exactly how Shores B was wagering, what, what books he was using, whether it was all legal, all offshore.

Those details I’m sure will, come out in some fashion.

But it is important to note that both were also underaged gambling as well.

So just given kind of what we’ve seen with, with Deckers, it’s, it’s hard to see Shores B retaining eligibility as well as, as we’ve said, it was a bet on the team he was playing on, even though he was a red shirt, and the fact there’s just a lot more amount of money for Shores B than Deckers.

So similar in those cases.

Also similar, I guess you could say in a good way, in that the integrity of the games was not compromised, right?

These are both players, when they were accused of betting, they weren’t actually playing in the game.

This isn’t a Jante Porter situation where they were the starting quarterback and there’s an over under prop, or they were intentionally winning or losing, as some of the things we’ve seen in college basketball and some of those scandals.

So that, I guess is the, the good news if, if there is any, but there isn’t a whole lot in this story.

it’s just kind of we’re waiting to see a little more, and it’s gonna be a big impact on college football this year
