Monday marked the first day of Giants mandatory minicamp, as veterans and rookies alike took the field.
Head coach John Harbaugh, tight end Isaiah Likely, and edge rusher Brian Burns were among those who spoke with members of the media.

Here’s what they had to say…
Edge rusher Abdul Carter was seen having his left ankle checked by trainers. And while any potential injury suffered in June comes highly unwelcomed, head coach John Harbaugh said he doesn’t believe it to be anything of concern.
“Looks like he twisted his ankle to some degree, but it doesn’t look serious,” said the head coach.
Carter, the No.3 overall pick in the 2025 draft, had 4.0 sacks as a rookie.
Tight end Isaiah Likely was one of the Giants’ big additions this offseason, as he’ll look to give QB Jaxson Dart a huge new weapon in the red zone.

While Likely is new to New York, he has plenty of familiarity with one of his newest teammates – Odell Beckham Jr. – as the pair played together in Baltimore in 2023.
Likely knows that while Beckham is a little bit older, he has plenty of wisdom to share with the rest of the receivers group.
“When he signed here, I kind of texted him like ‘Hey, you’re on my team now, rook.” Just a little joke we had, but I love Odell,” Beckham said. “Great vet, great big brother that I had in Baltimore, and knowing that he’s on this team now, you can really tell the receivers what he’s been through, what he does well, and really just ready to show everybody that he’s still got juice in the tank.”
Brian Burns is coming off a career season, as he notched 16.5 sacks and earned Pro Bowl and Second Team All-Pro honors in 2025.

Burns told reporters on Monday that while he — and everyone else in the NFL — enters each new season with confidence, he feels even more optimistic about this current Giants group.
“Everybody is excited right now. Every other team is excited,” Burns said. “Everybody is 0-0 and they see the pieces that they have flying through OTAs, but I’d be lying to say that I didn’t feel like this was a little different. I’m always excited and I expect highly of this team. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that. But at the end of the day, you’ve got to prove it, it ain’t just about being happy and optimistic. You’ve got to get on the field and you’ve got to prove it against another team and impose your will on them.”
