The Falcons placed running back Trey Sermon on injured reserve Wednesday, according to the NFL’s transactions report.
Sermon signed with the Falcons on Aug. 10, and he had one carry for 3 yards in last week’s preseason opener against the Broncos.

He entered the NFL as a 2021 third-round pick of the 49ers. The Eagles claimed Sermon off waivers after cutdown day in 2022.
Sermon spent the next two seasons with the Colts and moved on to the Steelers last year.
Sermon has 91 carries for 319 yards and two touchdowns in 46 career games. He’s also caught 22 passes for 138 yards.
