The Dominator returns to action next month.
Former US Open champion Dominic Thiem is the latest retired star to sign on to play the Rafa Nadal Academy Slam exhibition event set for Saturday, October 3rd at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, Mallorca.

Thiem will play on Captain Andy Murray’s squad. Frenchman Richard Gasquet was announced as a member of Nadal’s team earlier this week.
The exhibition event, which begins at 4 p.m. local time, is sold out.
Six years ago, Thiem rallied from two sets down to out-duel Alexander Zverev in the 2020 US Open final that spanned five sets and four hours of tension-filled drama. Thiem joined legendary Hall of Famer Pancho Gonzalez as just the second man in history to fight back from a two-set deficit and win a US Open final.
