The Miami Dolphins ended their 2026 offseason training program on Thursday, ending their spring preparations for the regular season. As they move into a month off from football operations before training camp begins in July, we continue to break down the team’s roster. Our 90-in-90 series picks an individual player to review, starting with his basic biographical data, then taking a look at his 2025 performance and what could be his role with the team in 2026.
Today marks our tenth player in the series for this season. We started with cornerback JuJu Brents, then carried on to edge rusher Mason Reiger, tight end Greg Dulcich, center Jim Bonifas, and safety Dante Trader. We then picked up with center Aaron Brewer – who signed a contract extension yesterday – followed by kicker Riley Patterson, edge Josh Uche, and wide receiver Terrace Marshall.

Today, we turn to undrafted rookie running back Anthony Hankerson.

Hankerson established himself as a key part of the Beavers’ offense in 2024, then backed it up in 2025. He became a fan favorite at Oregon State and he proved he can handle a huge work load out of the backfield. He has good vision and hits the hole well.

Hankerson joins the Dolphins with the hopes of claiming a spot on the roster despite a deep running back position ahead of him. The St. Thomas Aquinas High School product returns to South Florida and joins a position group that includes De’Von Achane, Ollie Gordon II, Jaylen Wright, Donovan Edwards, and Carlos Washington, Jr. Hankerson is going to have to make an immediate impact in training camp and the preseason, as well as get noticed on special teams, if he is going to force his way onto the Week 1 roster. He is probably destined to be a roster cut, possibly returning to the team on the practice squad.
