NBA free agent forward David Roddy has signed with Hapoel Jerusalem, according to a press release put out by the Israeli club.

The team says it’s a one-year contract for Roddy, though previous reporting from Sport5 suggested the deal would have a one-plus-one structure, with an option for a second year. It’ll be worth $1.5MM in the first year, per Sport5.

Roddy, 25, was selected with the 23rd pick in the 2022 draft out of Colorado State and spent his first season-and-a-half in the NBA with the Grizzlies. He was traded to the Suns in a three-team deal at the 2024 trade deadline and then bounced around the league for the next two seasons, spending time with the Hawks, Sixers, Rockets, and Nuggets, mostly on 10-day or two-way contracts.

A stout 6’5″ forward, Roddy averaged 6.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 16.9 minutes per game over the course of 173 regular season games in the NBA, with a shooting line of .424/.301/.693. He spent most of the 2025/26 season in the G League, putting up 13.0 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 3.8 APG on .482/.395/.723 shooting in 36 games (28.3 MPG) for the Raptors 905 and Grand Rapids Gold.

With the Nuggets resting most of their regulars on the last day of the regular season this April, Roddy registered his first NBA double-double, racking up 15 points and 13 rebounds in a victory over San Antonio.

Roddy has no two-way eligibility remaining and likely found guaranteed money hard to come by from NBA teams this offseason, so he’ll make the move overseas for the first time and figures to play a prominent role for Hapoel Jerusalem. The team competes in the EuroCup in addition to Israel’s top domestic league and features multiple former NBA players, including top scorer Jared Harper.
