Cyphercor, an Ontario-based cybersecurity firm behind the LoginTC Multi-Factor Authentication platform, has received a grant through the Ontario Centre for Innovation’s (OCI) Critical Industrial Technologies (CIT) initiative to develop its authentication solution for operational technology and manufacturing environments.
The grant, awarded via the CIT Development and Commercialisation (DC) programme stream, will fund the company’s “Secure Access Modernisation for Critical Infrastructure” project.
Through this work, the LoginTC MFA platform will be expanded to include contextual push notifications, biometric authentication, and FIDO2-compliant smart card access, with functionality designed to operate across both connected and offline systems.
The project was among more than 330 initiatives announced by Minister Fedeli on 2 March, and was developed in conjunction with the CIT Technology Development Site in Ottawa, working alongside the uOttawa-IBM Cyber Range. Cyphercor’s team participated in cyber simulation training as part of the engagement, while the company’s innovations were penetration tested by IBM specialists.
Cyphercor has positioned the project as closely aligned with Ontario’s Buy Ontario procurement objectives, with the solution being developed, tested, and commercialised entirely within the province.
LoginTC is Cyphercor’s core product, a multi-factor authentication platform built to secure access across operational technology and critical infrastructure environments, bridging physical and digital security for organisations seeking to modernise without overhauling existing systems.
OCI president and CEO Claudia Krywiak said, “Ontario’s innovation economy is strengthened when industry, government, and innovators work together.
“Strategic investments through the Critical Industrial Technologies (CIT) initiative accelerate technology adoption, reduce commercialization barriers, and position SMEs to compete globally while delivering impactful solutions across key sectors.”
Cyphercor CEO and founder Diego Matute said, “The OCI grant enables us to bring our MFA solution to the next level for critical infrastructure sectors. Our goal is to provide secure, standards-based access for operational and manufacturing environments, bridging physical and digital security, and allowing organizations to modernize without disrupting existing systems.”
