Surtain is a player in his absolute prime. He signed an extension in 2024 with a revision last year with the goal of avoiding any potential holdout situations.

Surtain is a key reason that this defense is as elite as it is. His ability to shut down the best receiver on the other team allows the defense to gain more time for their deadly pass rush to get home. This also allows Vance Joseph to roll coverage to help out other areas of the field that face challenging matchups.
I expect nothing short of amazing from Surtain. He’s bounced back from his partially torn pectoral muscle after missing 3 games last season and was able to finish the season strong.
