Jordan Brink is leaving the Knicks to take a position with the Bulls, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, who reports (via Twitter) that Brink will be an assistant coach and the director of player development in Chicago.

Brink, who began his career as an intern in Detroit on Stan Van Gundy‘s coaching staff, became an assistant video coordinator for the Pistons in 2016, then was promoted to head video coordinator and eventually a player development assistant under Dwane Casey. He joined Tom Thibodeau‘s staff in New York in 2023 and served as the team’s assistant director of player development before being elevated to an assistant coach position under Mike Brown.

Brink was largely responsible for initiating the Knicks’ coaches challenges and was credited for the team’s league-best success rate on challeneges during the 2024/25 season. Brown repeatedly singled out Brink for his impact in that area, referring to him as a “master at this” after a key challenge in Game 2 of the NBA Finals this spring helped New York win that game.

As James L. Edwards III of The Athletic notes (via Twitter), the 34-year-old Brink is a Chicago native, so he’ll be heading home to become a member of Tiago Splitter‘s first staff as the Bulls’ head coach.
