The Buffalo Bills had a brilliant first half of offense in their Highmark Stadium debut. With one unfortunate blemish.
Veteran wide receiver DJ Moore exited the Bills’ “Thursday Night Football” game against the Detroit Lions with a shoulder injury, the team announced as it came out of the locker room for the second half.

The injury occurred when Moore lunged for a would-be touchdown pass in the end zone from Josh Allen, only for the ball to bounce off his chest as he landed awkwardly on his shoulder. Moore stayed down after the play and eventually left the field under his own power.
There was hope the issue was minor after Bills head coach Joe Brady checked in with Moore and gave a thumbs up. Moore was later announced as questionable to return with what the Bills described as a “shoulder and stinger,” only to be downgraded at halftime.
The Buffalo wide receiver corps appeared to take another blow when Keon Coleman went down with an apparent ankle injury, but he was back in the game a few plays later.

Moore in his first season with the Bills after a trade last offseason sent him and a fifth-round draft pick over from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a second-round pick. He had a successful debut on Sunday, recording five catches, 100 receiving yards and a touchdown on eight targets in the Bills’ 36-31 win over the Houston Texans.
