The Cavaliers have re-signed Riley Minix, who was waived from his two-way slot on Thursday to create room for the addition of Norchad Omier, the team announced in a press release. Tristan Enaruna has been released to provide another two-way opening.
Minix, a 26-year-old small forward, appeared in one game with Cleveland this season before being let go, posting no points and three rebounds in six minutes of action. He played six games with the Cavs last season, as well as three with San Antonio before being waived in December.
Minix spent much of 2025/26 with the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers’ G League affiliate. In 24 games, he averaged 18.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 30.1 minutes per night.
Enaruna, a 25-year-old small forward, saw action in three games this season, averaging 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10 minutes per night. He was on a two-way contract that he signed on January 28.
The Cavs chose to part with Enaruna after he suffered an ankle injury late in Friday’s win over Philadelphia, a source tells Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com (subscriber link). Initial testing suggests Enaruna could miss significant time, and the team will hold his G League rights while he recovers.
The Cavaliers currently have three injured rotation players in Jarrett Allen (knee contusion), Jaylon Tyson (ankle sprain) and Sam Merrill (elbow injury management), so they brought back Minix to have another healthy wing on the roster, Fedor adds. He hears that the team will continue to explore two-way options, but Minix was considered the best choice for now.
