According to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Chicago Bears starting right guard Jonah Jackson is dealing with a hip flexor and is considered week-to-week. Jackson left Sunday’s win against the Atlanta Falcons in the second half and was ruled doubtful to return. Second-year pro Luke Newman entered the game for Jackson and finished the game.
Fowler added that Jackson’s availability for the Bears’ Thursday Night Game against the New England Patriots is “in doubt,” but the injury “shouldn’t be long-term.”

Offensive coordinator Press Taylor met the media earlier today, and he discussed the possibility of replacing Jackson for Thursday’s game with either Newman or Jordan McFadden.
“We’re excited about the depth we have,” Taylor said. Newman came in, did a good job to finish that game out for us. I think it’s worth noting McFadden started for us last year in the playoffs, and we were very comfortable with him starting at guard. And he did a good job in that game, so we’re excited about the depth of those guys. And we’ll see where Jonah’s at and if he’s got a chance to play on Thursday or not, but we are excited about some of the depth we have behind those guys as well on the inside.”
The Bears did release an injury report today, allbeit it was just an estimation on how it would have been if they held more than a walk through, and Jackson was listed as a DNP with the hip and a quad injury.
Also listed as did not practice were linebackers T.J. Edwards (hamstring) and Jack Sanborn (consussion) and running back Kyle Monangai (thumb/toe).
Linebacker Keyshaun Elliott (quad) and corner Tyrique Stevenson (hip) were listed on the injury report but as full participants.
And that’s it.
Quarterback Caleb Williams wasn’t listed at all.
