Kenneth Walker’s career-high for touchdowns in a season is nine and the running back could tie it in the second half of his fifth game with the Chiefs.
Walker bounced through tacklers and found the end zone on a two-yard run with 1:49 left to play in the half for his second touchdown of Sunday’s home game against the Chargers. The Chiefs were able to force a quick punt after that score and a pair of Patrick Mahomes completions got them into Harrison Butker’s field goal range before the half came to an end.

Butker was good from 50 yards and the Chiefs are up 19-3 at the break as a result.
Walker has 10 carries for 75 yards overall and Mahomes is 15-of-19 for 179 yards while completing passes to eight different receivers. Wide receiver Xavier Worthy leads the way with five catches for 70 yards, but names like Andrew Armstrong, Cyrus Allen and Emmett Johnson have also come through for the Chiefs so far on Sunday.
The Chargers’ deficit could be even bigger as the Chiefs drove to the 2-yard-line after Justin Herbert’s eighth interception of the season. Mahomes made a bad decision to not throw the ball away under pressure on third down, however, and handed the Chargers an interception of their own.
It’s about the only thing that’s gone wrong for the Chiefs and the Chargers will need that to change if they want to avoid their sixth loss in six tries.
