The Chargers opened Week Six with a whopping 18 players on their Wednesday injury report (veteran Khalil Mack not included) which was a new season-high for players on any given report thus far.
In an almost surreal situation, the Chargers ended Sunday’s loss to the Broncos with three healthy wide receivers who were dressed (Derius Davis, MVS, and Theo Wease) on top of four rookie offensive linemen who were forced to start due to six other injuries to players ahead of them on the depth chart.

The team is 0-5 and have a date with the 5-0 Chiefs this week.
Is it even worth the risk to try and have players such as Ladd McConkey, Derwin James, and Donte Jackson return just before the team’s bye? There’s a number of other players who could also make a return this week from various injuries, but again, what’s the point?
It would almost be more beneficial for the young guns to go out there again and face a very good team to further understand the talent level at the top of the league. Trial by fire isn’t always a bad thing!
