The 2026/27 regular season will tip-off on October 20, and several teams around the NBA still have roster openings to fill.
As our two-way contract tracker shows, the following teams each have one two-way vacancy:
Boston currently has Devin Carter, Milos Uzan, Tucker DeVries, Hayden Gray and Gabe McGlothan on Exhibit 10 contracts, which can be converted into two-way deals. Former lottery pick Carter had an impressive preseason debut last week, and head coach Joe Mazzulla praised the former Providence star during training camp, according to Noa Dalzell of CelticsBlog.com.
“The humility to show up and the openness that he has, of where he’s been in the league and where he wants to get to — and how competitive he is,” said Mazzulla. “He’s very open about wanting to make it. So I’ve appreciated just his mindset, his mentality, the chip on the shoulder that he brings to the game.”
Carter, who said after Thursday’s win that he was grateful to president of basketball operations Brad Stevens for the opportunity to sign with Boston, was sidelined for Saturday’s victory over Philadelphia due to an illness (Twitter link via the Celtics).
Rockets head coach Ime Udoka recently said Houston has four or five candidates in mind for its open two-way spot. For what it’s worth, Oscar Tshiebwe and Julian Phillips are currently signed to Exhibit 10 deals.
The other five teams each have multiple players on Exhibit 10 contracts as well. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be promoted, since other young players could be waived in the coming days. But some of them could have a shot at sticking around if they impress their respective teams during the preseason.
