The Wizards have signed free agent forward/center Skal Labissiere to an Exhibit 10 contract, the team announced today (via Twitter).
Washington waived Jazian Gortman to create a roster opening for Labissiere. Gortman was also on an Exhibit 10 deal and could be headed to the G League to play for the Capital City Go-Go, the Wizards’ affiliate team.
Labissiere was the 26th overall pick of the 2016 draft and played out all four years of his rookie scale contract in the NBA. However, the Haitian big man has largely been out of the league over the past six years, aside from 10-day contracts with the Kings and Wizards each of the past two seasons.
In his three games with Washington in 2025/26, Labissiere averaged 4.3 points and 3.0 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per contest. The 30-year-old holds career averages of 7.0 PPG and 4.3 RPG in 17.1 MPG across 155 appearances.
Labissiere has spent most of the past three years in the NBAGL with the Stockton Kings and Capital City. He was productive with the Go-Go in ’25/26, averaging 19.5 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 2.5 APG and 1.9 BPG on .545/.409/.853 shooting in 48 games (31.5 MPG).
Assuming he’s waived before the season and spends at least 60 days with the Go-Go in ’26/27, Labissiere would be eligible for a bonus worth up to $91K in addition to his normal G League salary.
Two other players were waived on Monday, per NBA.com’s transaction log: Bulls guard Isaiah Stevens and Magic forward Mike Sharavjamts. Stevens was waived to create roster space for Jordan Hawkins, while Sharavjamts was expected to be released shortly after he signed his Exhibit 10 deal.
The Magic officially signed and waived Johnell Davis after cutting Sharavjamts (Twitter links). Both Sharavjamts and Davis will likely play for the Osceola Magic to open 2026/27, according to Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel, who first reported the Davis news (via Twitter).
