After having multiple key starters sidelined across their first three games, the Seattle Seahawks’ front looked poised take a hit after star defensive tackle Leonard Williams went down with an apparent injury against the Los Angeles Chargers, but it seems as though he avoided the worst case scenario.
According to head coach Mike Macdonald, Williams’ ankle injury is not believed to be serious. However, it remains unclear if he’ll undergo further testing or will be required to miss any time.
The veteran defensive tackle exited the game just over halfway through the fourth quarter and was deemed questionable, but did not return. Although he finished the game on the sideline, Seattle had a comfortable 30-13 lead at the time he went down which could’ve possibly played a factor in their decision to keep him off the field.

The injury occurred on a Justin Herbert goal line run and Williams remained on the turf for just over a minute before being helped to the sideline, where he entered the blue medical tent.
Omarion Hampton punched it in for a score on the ensuing play and Williams was seen out of the tent and on the sideline before the Seahawks offense took the field, seemingly boding well for a potential return in the team’s Week 5 divisional clash against the San Francisco 49ers.
A key piece of Seattle’s dominant top six, Williams recorded just one quarterback hit prior to his exit.
It’ll be worth monitoring his status when Seattle releases their first injury report of the week on Wednesday night.
