Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen took a sizable hit directly to his knee in the fourth quarter in the Week 3 win over the Chargers, and it’s left some to believe he could actually be injured.
While there’s yet to be any official report on the matter, a handful of Twitter/X doctors have given their own diagnosis of the potential knee injury.
If you watch the second video above, you certainly can see Allen favoring his left knee in the locker room after the game.

Then there was this from Jesse Morse, M.D. on Twitter as part of the swirling speculation:
David Chao, @ProFootballDoc on Twitter/X who runs Sports Injury Central, also chimed in on what may have happened to Allen’s knee on that hit, and gave a reasonably positive educated guess, stating the following:
“We went back and looked at all the film…Allen does take a hit on the outside of his left knee, but we feel he’s more hurt than injured.”
Chao followed by saying, “thankfully his foot was not planting. I do not see a significant MCL-type injury.” Here’s the full video:
Of course, it is worth noting that Allen stayed in the game and finished that drive with a one-yard tush push touchdown to give Buffalo its first lead of the game, 17-13.

Joe Brady will speak to the media today, and I’m assuming one of the first questions he’ll be asked is about the status of Allen’s knee, although I don’t necessarily expect the head coach to have any definitive answers less than 24 hours removed from the game.
