Entering Week 2 of the NFL season, the Steelers’ injury report is already growing, and featuring some significant names.
According to the team’s official report, starting left tackle Troy Fautanu did not participate in Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury, while tight end Darnell Washington missed practice for personal reasons.

Fautanu briefly missed time in the Steelers’ season-opening win over the Falcons, but returned to the game, which could be seen as a good sign for his availability this Sunday.
Also new to the injury report is wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr., who was limited on Wednesday with a foot injury. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr., with a non-injury-related/conditioning designation, was also listed as limited.
A back injury is no longer the designation for the star corner, and the NIR label could more clearly indicate his limited participation is contract-related; Porter wanted an extension from the Steelers before the start of the regular season.
The Steelers’ Week 2 opponent, the Patriots, have yet to release a Wednesday injury report.
